The Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the preschool and is supported by the deputy and a team of staff. All preschool staff are fully qualified. We also have apprentices and volunteers working towards their childcare qualification. All staff working directly with children have completed their Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications within the first months of joining Watery Lane. When recruiting staff we ensure all successful candidates complete a vigorous recruitment procedure, have a thorough understanding of the preschool’s policies and procedures, how the setting works and have that passion for working with children.
Our setting uses a key person approach. This means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom she is particularly responsible. Your child's key person will be the person who works with you to make sure that the childcare that we provide is right for your child's particular needs and interests. When your child first starts at the preschool the key person will help your child to settle and, throughout your child's time at the preschool, she will help your child to benefit from the setting's activities.
