Watery Lane preschool recognises parents as the first and most important educators of their children. This is why we feel it is so important to work together in a strong parent partnership to enable us to provide the best care possible for your child.
Parental involvement is a huge factor in your child’s development and success. How parents take part in the setting
Watery Lane Preschool recognises parents as the first and most important educators of their children. All of the staff see themselves as partners with parents in providing care and education for their children. There are many ways in which parents take part in making the preschool a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents, such as:
- Exchanging knowledge about their children's needs, activities, interests and progress with the staff;
contributing to the progress check at age two;
- Contributing to children's learning journals
- Helping at sessions in the setting;
- Supporting fund-raising activities;
- Sharing their own special interests with the children;
- Helping to provide and look after the equipment and materials used in the children's play activities;
- Being part of the management of the preschool where appropriate;
- Taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by the preschool;
- Joining in community activities, in which the preschool takes part; and
- Building friendships with other parents in the preschool.
The first few years of your child’s life is a time of magic and wonder. We understand the importance of these years, and dedicate ourselves to making positive and productive. Our school policies are dictated by this philosophy, and designed for your child’s optimal learning and growth.
We are a charity run setting that relies heavily on fundraising to be able to provide greater enrichment for your child. Your involvement is of great importance to our success, this includes volunteering, planning fundraising events or participating in special events. You’re an integral part of your child’s success.
