Welcome to our Oaks Room. In this room we care for children aged 3 and 4 years old. This room is for our preschool leavers who are preparing for school readiness. In Oaks we love to explore and begin to deepen our understanding of the knowledge we have already gained. We like to plan, experiment and evaluate our play. We have a stimulating learning environment that engages all areas of development with free flow access to our outdoor area.
Our facilities provide children with everything they need to grow and learn. We have adapted preschool to promote open ended learning opportunities, encouraging children to use their imagination.
During their time in this room, Oak children have the opportunity to participate in many exciting additional activities such as weekly all day forest school sessions, swimming and trips in their local environment to places like the library, shops, cafes, beaches, parks and even a train ride. We provide the opportunity for children to have a greater understanding of the world around us and often take the opportunity to grow, observe, nurture and discover nature in all forms such as chickens, tadpoles, flowers and veg in our veg patch. In this room we encourage our children to begin to gain those important life skills and independence to ensure they are ready for their next big steps. We offer this through a variety of ways such as registration, self select café snack plus encouragement of selfcare routines such as handwashing, toileting and dressing.
